Le Voyage Dans La Lune (A Trip To The Moon) marks AIR’s magnificent return to lunar theme that characterized their seminal debut Moon Safari. Originally conceived as music for the fully restored, color version of the classic 1902 silent film “Le Voyage Dans La Lune” by Georges Méliès, their work on the film became the inspiration for their new studio release, which grew to become a full length album, featuring vocal and lyrics from Victoria Legrand (Beach House) and Au Revoir Simone. As a bonus, the Limited Edition versions of Le Voyage Dans La Lune (digital and CD+DVD) feature the newly restored movie including AIR’s original score, and will only be available for a short time. Your chance to own a piece of cinema history! Point of interest: the Georges Méliès film and character are central to the new Martin Scorsese movie “Hugo” which won multiple Golden Globe awards and is already generating excellent Oscar buzz.
