Fucked Up, Year Of The Ox

Toronto based hardcore-punk group, Fucked Up, has posted a new addition to their 12" singles series in celebration of the Chinese Zodiac.
"Year of the Ox" is a 13-minute epic that makes you wonder, where did the 3-minute raging hardcore jams go? Well Fucked Up isn't your typical adolescent kids, slamming their 3-chord songs and screaming into the microphone. In "Year of the Ox", they start to push the boundaries of the genre as they indulge their deepest musical ideas.
The 12" B-Side will have "Solomon's Song" which is described as a gothic vampire love tribute to Twilight and features a five-minute saxophone solo courtesy of the Bitters' Aerin Fogel.
The "Year of the Ox" 12" will be released by Merge on vinyl and as a digital download on September 28 (outside North America on Matador).
You can listen to Fucked Up's "Year of the Ox" over at the Pitchfork Site.
