WATCH: Gregory Rogove Showcases Piana At Los Angeles’ Human Resources (FILTER Premiere)

In the summer of 2009, Gregory Rogove traveled to Mexico to write an album of solo piano pieces which were then performed and recorded in New York by John Medeski. That wasn't enough for Rogove though, he also decided to offer up his material to different artists to interpret his music as they saw fit both muscially and visually. Below, you can get a preview of what his forthcoming Piana album will hold.

Untitled from KF Records on Vimeo.

Back in Novemeber 2011, Gregory invited his friends to perform at a special show at Los Angeles' Human Resources venue in Chinatown. Joined by Devandra Banhart, Carly Margolis, Lucky Dragons and more, the audience was able to sample the new album, including visual art by Lauren Dukoff, Fabrizio Moretti (the Strokes) and more. Below, you can sample some of that night.

When you purchase Piana, you also get a matching DVD which acts as a sort of visual gallery. This "gallery" has images that you can click on, like hanging art and jukeboxes which will then either play the remixed song or display the artist's take on Rogove's songs.

Enjoy the video below which was Directed by Phillip Gadrow and Edited by Chris Viglone and be sure to get yourself a copy of the CD/DVD, Piana, on January 31 via Knitting Factory Records. You can pre-order your copy here.

You can also grab other Gregory Rogove music right here.
